Using Notebooks and Thumbnails!
Sure, all my final designs were done on my iMac.
But almost everything I design, still starts on paper. I have a trusted notebook where I thumbnail* and write down ideas. I like to refer to the notebook often, to see if any old ideas and sketches can help me with my new designs.
All you new designers out there take note – and make notes (and sketches)!
* According to Google: Art directors and graphic designers, as well as other kinds of visual artists, use the term “thumbnail sketch” to describe a small drawing on paper (usually part of a group) used to explore multiple ideas quickly. Thumbnail sketches are similar to doodles, but may include as much detail as a small sketch.
