Time flies when you’re having fun!
Well, these two weeks really have gone by quickly, it’s hard to believe that my work placement here at Deschenes Regnier is already over.
Not really knowing what to expect, part of me was a little worried that my two weeks would be filled with doing all of the little tasks that other people wouldn’t want or didn’t have time to do. That was not the case. From day one I was given real jobs to do where I got to take what I’ve been learning and use those skills on projects for actual clients. Getting help from the team along the way to do the best that I can do.
In all honesty the stress of school would, at times, make me question whether or not this is really what I want to be doing, but after my experience of working with the people here and getting a glimpse of what a possible future could be I feel more confident in choosing this career path. Everyone here truly works as a team, helping each other, giving each other constructive criticism, and not forgetting to have fun and to crack a few jokes.
It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave, I have enjoyed my time here and I am sad to go, but it is now time for me to go back to school (after a few weeks of freedom) and I am going back with a new found confidence and enthusiasm that I will put into continuing to learn all that I can. With any luck maybe one day I’ll be back here, or at least working at a place with a great environment such as this one.
I want to thank everyone here at Deschenes Regnier for having me these past two weeks, it has been great getting to know you all and I hope to see you again in the future.
