First few days at Deschenes Regnier
As I started my two-week work placement here many thoughts went through my head.
What will it be like? Will they like me? Will I be out of my depth?
It’s easy to over-think and to get stressed out about coming into a new environment, but as much as I felt the first day jitters, I was equally excited to see what the next couple of weeks would have in store. I am eager to learn and gain experience from everyone here, and eager to apply what I’ve been learning in school to the real world.
The nervousness of the first day faded away as one by one I met the members of the team. Everyone has been friendly and have made me feel very welcome. The friendly close-knit environment of the firm and of the team have made this experience a lot less scary, and now that I begin my first task of a booklet layout design, I hope to show everyone what I can do, and I hope not too get in their way too much as I find my footing.
