Adding the Finishing Touch

As a designer, I get excited whenever I get to incorporate special print finishes in marketing or promotional pieces. Adding something special or unexpected to the printed piece can really enhance the design and create unique and memorable print items and make great first impressions. In print marketing, it is important to grab the readers attention quickly and the reader’s first impression often decides if your promotional items are going to be read or not.
Adding different techniques such as embossing or debossing, die-cutting, foil, varnishes or simply choosing a higher quality paper stock will contribute to the overall look and feel of your piece and also adds a tactile experience for the user. While these techniques are often left-out because of the additional cost and time they take to produce, I think they can be a worthwhile investment to help your pieces stand out from the crowd.
With new printing technologies emerging all the time, the possibilities are endless when it comes to incorporating unique creative touches to your promotional and marketing material.
