While it can be hard to predict the future in our rapidly evolving industry, one of my favourite web-design trends – and I have been seeing quite a few lately – is asymmetrical and broken grid layouts.
Broken grid layouts challenge layout styles we’ve grown accustomed to seeing, the design elements and text overlap each other or bleed off the page creating interesting, asymmetrical composition. It isn’t an easy thing to achieve since it can easily look messy, but when done well, it results in a less rigid layout that has dimension and depth, and that helps you stand out from the crowd!
