US State Department employees were victims of a hacking campaign last month. Hackers, reported to be working for the Iranian government, likely used phishing to gain access to their personal social media accounts, proving hackers don’t need sophisticated techniques to compromise high level targets.
So how then can we protect our organizations and employees? Education is key.
Teaching and training employees on how to avoid being tricked is the best line of defence. Keeping up to date on the latest techniques with show-and-tell training sessions will help inoculate teams both at work and at home.
